A few of us met at 41A Chittaranjan Avenue. In principle the prospects are exciting to take baby steps with a long time perspective. We know a few persons who love their homes and have no wish to monetize their properties.  Papia Das is one such person and we have planned some programmes to take this forward.

One needs to think along the lines of

  • Long term Sustainability for owners to make it feasible to retain their homes
  • Guidance for corrective restoration initiatives
  • Legal help
  • Reuse Options and Outreach
  • If necessary create a body to apply for funding.

For this

  1. We need to create pilot projects over a span of time.
  2. We need to showcase success stories
  3. It should become a Tsunami.

Madhumita Bishnu and Asmita will handle media outreach. Malini Nag and Joy will help with creation of programmes and events. Meanwhile we need a lead for each of the verticals.

 

The legacy of Calcutta will live on. Do come on board
